SHOPPING!!
Ok so yesterday I went shopping! We hit three different stores all before lunch and I saved so much money!! Seriously if you have not started using coupons yet then this is your weekend to try. Just listen to all of my great savings! First I went to Walgreens where I spent $8.46 but I saved $33.66 matching my coupons to sales and using my Register Rewards from my last trip. Just look at at the great stuff I bought!! Then it was on to Rite Aid. Now remember how I got $15 worth of +UP well I walked out of there only spending $1.43 plus I will get back $4.60 in rebates! I even scored a Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair that was on clearance marked down to $2.49 which I had a $1 off coupon for woohoo! I got two free wipes refill packs plus free toothpaste on that trip. My total savings between sales and coupons was $23.36!! Look at this! Last but not least I hit up the commissary. Money money money
Yesterday we kissed nearly $1000 good bye getting our heat pump fixed, I spent $5 at the commissary getting fresh fruit and veggies after my WIC voucher was used up and at some point I will need to fill the gas tank this month. Today I sat down balanced the check book and redid the May budget. Some days it feels like my life revolves around the money it takes to run this family. It has to be controlled and told where to go or it all disappears without a trace. Having a budget is a family affair so even when Brent was gone I would send him a copy of our monthly budget and keep him informed of changes made and money spent. Our children know that is takes money to do karate, buy gas and groceries and keep a roof over their heads. Military Pay
Well will we or won't we? That seems to be the circulating question with about a hundred different answers! One source says we will get paid just not on the 15th of April it will be posted on May 1st as back pay. Another source says we will receive half of our pay on the 15th of April and the rest will come after the budget is hashed out. Yet another source states only those in a combat zone will get any kind of pay on the 15th of April and someone else believes there will be no change to our pay at all.Some are also saying nothing will be affected until May. I do not claim to know which answer is right, frankly I don't think anyone knows which answer it is going to be at the moment. Right now I am just so thankful that we are able to live off of the pay we received on April 1st. Coupons, did someone say coupons?
Well it looks like I am going to be leading a coupon class on April 19th! This is my very first coupon class so of course I am nervous but excited. I have led a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University class which was a 13 week course with a group of people who started out as complete strangers to me so I know I can handle it. My biggest concern is the unknown. What if someone asks a question I can not answer? Or worse what if I answer it and it turns out I am wrong? Ugh Ok I have got to pep myself up I can do this, I love coupons, I love saving money, I love helping others save money this is going to be great! Plus I have great women helping me out so everything will fall into place just as it should.
