Fall Breakfast (or dessert ) Idea

Image
If you are getting tired of pancakes and waffles then try this fun and easy apple cobbler for your next family breakfast! What you will need 4 apples(4 cups) pealed, cored and chopped 1 cup sugar 1 tsp cinnamon maybe a little more we love cinnamon! 1/4 tsp nutmeg 2 TBSP Butter cut up 1 1/3 cup milk 2 cups Bisquick Preheat the oven to 350 Put your apples in the bottom of your baking pan I used an 8x12 and it worked great. Then mix the sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a large bowl and sprinkle evenly over the apples. My daughter actually did this part for me so I could mix the milk and Bisquick together. Dot the butter over the apples then pour the Bisquick milk mixture over that spread it evenly. Bake for about 40 minutes until topping is golden brown and cooked through. Rotate your pan about half way through baking time to make sure it gets an even browning. Let it cool for a few minutes then serve. We got about 12 servings. It was delicious! Busy boy syndrome

I have a three year old son named Justice who is the busiest child I know. Today for example I needed him to sit down and watch a movie with his little sister so I could get the budget balanced and then make lunch. I do not think they watched very much of the movie at all. Kady actually ended up following me into the office while Justice bounced from one room to the next finally deciding on causing mischief of the electronic sorts. He figured out a long time ago how the Xbox and Wii work or at least the basics of it so he took out the DVD that was in the Xbox and put it in the Wii I can only assume for safe keeping. He then grabbed one of our new Kinect Xbox games and put it in the Xbox promptly loosing the case for the game. Cue mommy walking in at that point looking for Kady's cup of water so I could snuggle her. Forget snuggling I had to rescue the Xbox remote that Justice was shaking madly at the TV saying "It won't work" and get the game out of the Xbox that he...

More good cooking

Last night was the night to make that cheesy noodle recipe with the frozen egg noodles I did not use on the night we ended up eating fried chicken. I planned a meatless dinner since we are getting to the bottom of our freezer stash and the only meat left in there was a bag of chicken nuggets we are eating tonight. When I told Brent it would be a meatless dinner he actually gave me the pout lip and so I had to come up with something better. I told him the only other meat we really had was bacon and he said hey that actually sounds good so Daddy Mac n Cheese was born. What you need: 1 Stick of butter 6 TBSP flour squirt of mustard dash of salt and pepper 4 cups of milk 1 pound of cheddar cheese shredded plus a little more if you like it cheesy I added in a little bit of Wisconsin cheddar I had sitting in the cheese drawer. 2 bags of the 16 oz frozen Ms. Reames Egg Noodles about a pound of thick cut apple wood smoked bacon cut up into little pieces To start get the water boil...

More Adventures in Parenting

So as you know I have five children and am currently the only parent in the home. Every day is an adventure but here lately I have felt like I am living on my own personal survival show. I am desperately trying to find balance in my daily schedule and there does not seem to be any. Now I am sure that there is time wasted somewhere likely between the 5 o'clock and 6 o'clock in the morning hour but even I need rest.  I try to keep things realistic and realistically speaking that is the best time to just drift in and out while you enjoy the silence or in my case the ringing in my ears but it is all the same thing. Yesterday I decided to start tackling the mounds of laundry overflowing out of three large laundry baskets in my office. I also really needed to clean my kitchen and get my three year old in to see a doctor. Somehow I thought all of that would get accomplished before noon, not sure why but that is what I was aiming for. Well I got most of the laundry done by noon and t...
